Scott Soefje; Director – Cancer Care Pharmacy, Mayo Clinic
Scott A. Soefje is the Director, Cancer Care Pharmacy at the Mayo Clinic and an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science in Rochester, MN. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from The University of Texas at Austin and then after almost five years of hospital practice, he returned to earn a PharmD from the joint program at UT Austin and The UT Health Sciences Center at San Antonio. He stayed in San Antonio to complete an ASHP Accredited Specialty Residency in Oncology Pharmacy at the South Texas Veterans Hospital and then a Clinical Pharmacology Fellowship at the U.T. M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. He has obtained an MBA focusing on healthcare from The George Washington University. He is Board Certified in Oncology Pharmacy. He is a past president of the Hematology Oncology Pharmacy Association (HOPA) and has been recognized as a Fellow of American College of Clinical Pharmacy and Fellow of HOPA.
He has a breath of cancer care pharmacy experience from academia to clinical practice to industry to cancer care administration. In his current role, he oversees the cancer care service line for the pharmacy at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He is focused on operational efficiencies, developing the role of the pharmacists in clinics, expanding the educational opportunities for students and residents in cancer care, exploring real-world clinical data, and supporting cancer care research.
